1. Set up your input

Use a decimal point. Commas are separators, so 1,000 means two values, not one thousand. This tool accepts a numeric list, not a CSV table with headers.

Questions & answers

What is the difference between mean and median?

Mean is the arithmetic average. Median is the middle sorted value, or the average of the two middle values when the count is even.

Can there be more than one mode?

Yes. All values tied for the highest repeated frequency are modes. No repeated values means no mode under this convention.

Which standard deviation should I choose?

Population uses N in the variance denominator. Sample uses N minus one. Choose the convention appropriate to the dataset you are describing.

Can I paste spreadsheet values?

Yes, a single numeric row or column separated by whitespace or commas. Remove headers and thousands separators first.

What happens with one sample value?

Mean and median are available, but sample standard deviation needs at least two values.

Can I save the result?

Yes. Download the text result or JSON report, or copy the result. Editing inputs invalidates the previous result until you calculate again.

Is my input uploaded for processing?

Processing runs in a local browser worker with no input upload and no account. Website advertising and analytics are described in the privacy information.
