A custom word puzzle, from idea to print

The generator tries several interlocking layouts using a repeatable seed. Every placed answer belongs to one connected puzzle. Words that cannot be placed are listed explicitly; try another seed, a larger grid or additional connecting words.

Supports 1–40 answers with 2–24 A–Z letters. Spaces, hyphens and accents are normalized with a visible report. Clues can use Unicode. These are educational word puzzles, not guaranteed newspaper-style grids. PDF exports contain raster artwork and are not searchable text.

Processing runs in this browser. Projects are not automatically saved. Site advertising and optional analytics follow the website’s privacy and consent settings.

Questions & answers

Will every word fit?

Not always. The generator attempts several connected layouts and reports unplaced entries. Add words with shared letters, use a larger grid or try another seed. Unplaced answers are never silently included in the answer key.

Which characters are supported?

Answers use A–Z. Spaces, hyphens and accents are normalized with an explicit preview. Clues may use normal Unicode text.

Are the puzzles newspaper-style crosswords?

They are educational interlocking word puzzles. They do not guarantee rotational symmetry, full cross-checking or editorial standards for newspaper grids.

What are the limits?

Up to 40 answers, each 2–24 letters, on a grid up to 31 by 31. Projects retain the word list and settings; the layout is regenerated from the seed.

Can I save and reopen my work?

Yes. Save project downloads a JSON file for this tool. Open project restores it. Projects are not automatically saved; download a copy before leaving.

Is my input uploaded?

Processing runs in your browser without a processing upload. Public pages may include advertising and optional analytics governed by the site privacy and consent settings.
