Questions & answers
Are two discounts added together?
No. Each discount applies to the remaining price. Twenty percent then ten percent gives 28% off, not 30%.
When is tax applied?
The entered tax percentage applies to the discounted subtotal. The calculator does not determine the applicable rate or rules.
Which currency does this use?
The same currency as the prices you enter. No currency conversion happens.
Does quantity affect the per-item price?
No. It multiplies the discounted item price to produce the subtotal.
Why might a shop receipt differ by a cent?
Shops can round individual prices and taxes at different stages. This tool calculates using unrounded values and rounds displayed amounts to two decimals.
Can I save the result?
Yes. Download the text result or JSON report, or copy the result. Editing inputs invalidates the previous result until you calculate again.
Is my input uploaded for processing?
