Find the copies you don’t need

Choose a folder to include its files, or drop individual files here.

Choose files or try the sample. Nothing is deleted.

1,000 files · 128 MiB each · 2 GiB total. Folder selection includes files in subfolders; drag-and-drop accepts individual files. Empty folders are omitted.

Review matching groups

Checked files will be kept. Unique files are kept automatically. At least one copy must remain in each duplicate group.

No scan yet.

ZIP export is limited to 256 MiB of retained files. Paths are preserved where possible; conflicting names get a numbered suffix. This never removes files from your PC.

How to use Duplicate File Finder

  1. Choose individual files or use Choose folder for a recursive folder selection. Adding files resets the previous scan.
  2. Choose which copy should be retained automatically: first selected, newest, oldest or shortest path. Run Scan for identical files.
  3. Inspect each group. Check additional copies to keep them, or switch the retained copy. Every group must keep at least one copy.
  4. Download the duplicate report for manual cleanup, or Download kept files ZIP to create a new collection. No originals are deleted.

Limits and supported output

Up to 1,000 files, 128 MiB per file and 2 GiB selected. ZIP export is capped at 256 MiB. This finds identical bytes, not visually similar photos. It never deletes files from your device.

Questions & answers

Are my originals deleted?

No. Keep choices only control the downloaded ZIP. Your original files remain on your device.

How are duplicates confirmed?

Files are grouped by size, then SHA-256. Matching candidates are compared byte for byte before they are grouped. Filenames do not determine duplicates.

Can I scan a folder?

Use Choose folder to include its files recursively. Empty folders are not part of the scan or output. Browser folder permissions and support vary.
