Questions & answers
Is this JSONPath?
No. JSON Pointer resolves one exact location. It has no wildcards, filters, recursive searches or executable expressions.
How do slash and tilde keys work?
Encode / as ~1 and ~ as ~0 in each path token. For a/b followed by ~key, use /a~1b/~0key.
What does a blank pointer mean?
It selects the entire document. The pointer / selects an object property whose name is empty; these are distinct.
Can I use URI fragments?
Yes. This tool accepts # followed by a percent-encoded JSON Pointer, for example #/a%20b. It decodes UTF-8 first, then resolves the pointer. It does not imply every JSON media type supports such fragments.
Does it preserve large numbers?
Yes. It resolves a parsed syntax tree and exports original numeric tokens, avoiding JavaScript Number rounding. Duplicate object keys are rejected.
What limits apply?
Use 250,000 input characters, 20,000 values and 32 nesting levels. The path table and path-list export show up to 500 subtree values. The selected JSON output includes the complete selected value within those limits.
