Prove it, don't guess

Verify tries every arrangement the clues allow. “One answer” appears only if the search finished. If it runs out of budget the result says Unknown.

Limits

2–5 categories with 2–8 items each. Large open puzzles may hit the search budget. Hints use clue facts first, then the answer key, so they are not a full deduction explainer.

Using Logic Grid Puzzle Builder

Write categories and clues, prove the puzzle has exactly one answer, solve it on an interactive grid, and export printable and playable copies with an answer key.

  1. Choose Try example, or enter 2 to 5 categories with 2 to 8 items each. Mark a category as ordered if its items have a sequence, such as times.
  2. Add clues by hand or press Generate. Generated clue sets are proven to have one answer, and you can set the difficulty and seed.
  3. Press Verify answer. The solver searches every arrangement and reports one answer, none, more than one (showing two), or unknown if it hits its budget.
  4. Open Play & test to solve on the grid with Check and Hint, then use Export for printable pages, a playable offline page and the answer key.

Example

In the fictional Bake Sale example, four friends, four treats and four arrival times are tied together by six clues that the solver proves have a single answer.

Questions & answers

How does it know a puzzle has one answer?

The solver tries every arrangement the clues allow. It says one answer only if that search finished. If it runs out of budget, the result is Unknown rather than a guess.

Which clue types are supported?

Goes with, does not go with, either of two options, earlier, later, exactly N steps before, and next to. You can reword any clue.

What can I download?

A printable puzzle, a printable puzzle with answer key, a self-contained playable page, an answer key CSV and a project file. Exports that include an answer need a proven single answer first.

What are the limits?

Up to 5 categories and 8 items each; large open puzzles may reach the search budget. Hints use direct clues first, then the answer key, so they do not explain a full deduction. The playable page includes the answer so it can check marks.
