Original sources stay unchanged · save your review to keep decisions

Exactly two text sources, source first and target second. Index matching is only a starter. Manual one-to-one/many-to-many groups refer to nonempty paragraph numbers; repeated/invalid assignments are rejected and uncovered paragraphs reported. Exports TMX 1.4; no translation or semantic equivalence claim.

Using Parallel Text Alignment Editor

Link original and translated or revised paragraphs manually, then export transparent bilingual segments.

  1. Open supported local sources or try the worked example. Files are not automatically fetched from URLs, and originals are not overwritten.
  2. Use Details & settings to select the right columns, assumptions, rules and presentation. Select a review card for exact source evidence and notes.
  3. Use Preview for the visual, method notes and result table. Chart zoom and full screen keep controls nearby; editorial proposals remain unapplied until explicitly approved.
  4. Use Export for task-specific artifacts, editable SVG/PNG where supported, standalone HTML and portable review data. Save review to continue with the exact original files.

Example

The worked manuscript, transcript, bilingual pair, event tags or claim table contains specific review cases for this task. Select a finding to inspect its exact source. For editable reviews, change Reviewed revision and approve it before downloading the new text copy; the original file is retained.

Questions & answers

What does Parallel Text Alignment Editor support?

Exactly two text sources, source first and target second. Index matching is only a starter. Manual one-to-one/many-to-many groups refer to nonempty paragraph numbers; repeated/invalid assignments are rejected and uncovered paragraphs reported. Exports TMX 1.4; no translation or semantic equivalence claim.

What can I download?

The review ZIP includes full supported result data, source fingerprints, settings and task-specific files. Editable paragraph reviews produce approved UTF-8 text copies, preserving source order rather than Word formatting. Alignment exports TMX, style tools export reusable rules, and all workflows include portable evidence.

Can I save my work and is processing local?

Yes. Save review retains settings, manual decisions and exact source names/SHA-256 fingerprints. Reopen it with the matching originals. Processing uses local libraries and bounded browser workers; source links are not automatically opened. Public pages retain existing approved ads and optional analytics.

What are the limits and important assumptions?

Use up to eight files, normally 25 MiB each and 80 MiB total. Data import supports 50,000 rows/300 columns, with smaller per-visual node, geometry or observation limits stated in the tool scope. Workers stop after 30 seconds. SVG theme input is limited to 1 MiB; transcript review chunks to 200,000 characters. Readability, review hints, geographic displays and statistical comparisons are scoped aids rather than factual, accessibility, causal or professional certification.
