Video Editor

Highly recommended

Your local editing desk. Build the timeline, refine your picture and sound, then export a finished video.

Local processingTimeline & transitionsMP4 & WebMSave editable projects

Start with clips or photos. Up to 24 media assets / 200 MiB total, 16 video clips and a three-minute export at up to 1080p. Media processing uses the existing local engine (about 31 MiB on first use).

Add media or try the example to begin.

Your timeline preview appears here
00:00.000 / 00:00.000

Drag a selected title or layer in the preview to position it. Preview timing, color and caption wrapping are approximate. MP4/WebM export renders the actual timeline and audio mix. Check the exported result before publishing.

Timeline

Add a video or image to the video track.

Drag video cards to reorder, or drag their edge grips to trim. You can also use Move earlier / later and exact source times in Edit. Audio, image layers and titles have explicit start times in the inspector. Space plays/pauses, arrows step frames, and Ctrl/Cmd+Z undoes outside text fields.

Keep your edit: Save project downloads an editable JSON with your timeline, settings and media fingerprints. Keep your original files too; reopen the project and add those files again to relink them. Nothing is saved automatically or uploaded for processing. Site advertising is covered in the privacy policy.

Using Video Editor

Edit a short video with a multi-item timeline, reusable media, clip controls, transitions, audio layers, titles and captions. Review the actual exported file before sharing.

  1. Add footage, PNG/JPG/WebP images or audio, or try the example project. Use library buttons to add clips, sound tracks or image layers.
  2. Use Media, Layout, Edit, Text, Audio, Effects and Export tabs beside the preview. Select timeline items to refine them. Split at the playhead, reorder clips, drag audio, titles and overlays to change their timing, drag edge grips to trim, use snapping for precise alignment, choose looks/transitions, adjust audio and add timed titles, captions or picture-in-picture video. Undo and redo support changes.
  3. Choose a landscape, portrait or square export. Render, watch the actual result and download MP4/WebM or the mixed soundtrack. Save project JSON and keep the original media files for relinking.

Example

The example has two three-second videos with a 0.5-second dissolve, a timed title and a quiet looping audio track that ducks beneath the original clip audio. The planned result is 5.5 seconds.
Create a photo sequence by adding several images, setting a duration and using Slow zoom in/out. Add narration on an audio track and readable SRT captions timed against the edited timeline.

Questions & answers

What can I edit?

A sequential video track accepts video clips, still images and generated color cards. Four extra audio tracks support music/narration, offsets, trims, looping, fades and gain. Twelve timed titles and four image/video overlays can sit above the video. Cut, dissolve, wipe, slide and fade-through-black transitions are available. Clips and layers have brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, sepia and blur effects; layers also have opacity and fades. Image and video overlays can be moved and resized directly in the preview, with corner, half-screen and full-canvas presets. Layout builds side-by-side, top/bottom or picture-in-picture comparisons with adjustable proportions and labels. Layer audio can be added separately as an audio track.

Is this a desktop professional editor?

It is an advanced browser editor for short, finished videos. It does not offer HDR color management, multicamera synchronization, external plugins, unlimited tracks, motion tracking, chroma keying or automatic transcription. Preview timing, color and text wrapping are approximate; inspect the rendered output.

How long and large can a project be?

Up to 24 media assets totaling 200 MiB, 150 MiB per file, 16 sequential video/image clips, 4 audio tracks, 12 titles and 4 image/video overlays. Export duration is at most three minutes. Even output dimensions are limited to 1920 per edge and 2,073,600 pixels. Source media can last up to one hour and video/images can have at most 16 million pixels.

Are my files uploaded?

No processing upload is required. Editing and FFmpeg rendering run in this browser. Project JSON and reports download only when requested. Public pages use advertising and site services described in the privacy policy.

What happens when I save a project?

JSON stores timeline choices, titles, captions, settings and media fingerprints. It does not embed footage. Keep the originals. Open the project and add those files again to relink by SHA-256 fingerprint. Generated color cards can be recreated automatically. Nothing is saved automatically.

Are cuts and exports lossless?

No. Clips are normalized into a common frame/audio format, transitions are assembled, then the finished composition is encoded. Lossy source quality cannot be recovered. Source metadata and extra tracks are not retained. Keep your originals.

Why is export slower than preview?

Preview uses browser media playback and canvas. Export renders transitions, effects, overlays and the audio mix using a local 31 MiB FFmpeg engine. Several processing passes are used. Large dimensions and long projects can take several minutes or exceed device memory. Try Quick test at 480p before a large export.

How does audio ducking work?

A selected audio track uses sidechain compression driven by original video-track audio, making it quieter when that audio is present. This is signal-level ducking rather than AI speech detection. Preview does not model the sidechain compressor; the actual mixed export includes it.

How do captions and titles work?

SRT/VTT captions use edited timeline times. Titles have individual times, positions, sizes, colors, bold/italic styling, outlines, wrapping, alignment, optional background boxes and fades. Ready headline, lower-third, label and quote styles can be customized. Plain text and line breaks are supported. Liberation Sans covers Latin, Greek and Cyrillic; other scripts can show missing glyphs. Captions become permanent video pixels.

Can I cancel or undo?

Cancel terminates the render worker while retaining your project/media. Undo/redo keeps up to 60 timeline/settings snapshots during the page session. Closing the page loses this history; save project JSON to continue later.

Can I download the edited audio?

After rendering a video, download the actual soundtrack as WAV or 192 kbps MP3. It includes clip audio and the exported audio-track mix. You can also download a PNG of the current canvas preview.
