Website Migration & Redirect Planner
Plan a website move with old and new URL inventories, suggested page matches, manual redirect approvals, loop and chain checks, page metadata inspection and downloadable redirect rules.
Export plan ▾
Only approved redirects and Gone pages are included. Blocking audit errors must be resolved first. Templates require staging tests.

Match settings
Matching settings do not rewrite exported URLs. Exact source queries are retained in server templates.

Review the planned redirect graph
These checks inspect your plan, not live websites. Approved redirects and Gone decisions define the graph.
A migration you can verify
Track your own progress. This checklist does not run deployments or contact search engines.
Test cases to include
- Moved pages, unchanged URLs and intentionally removed content.
- Query strings, trailing slashes, encoded URLs and both hostnames.
- One-hop targets with working HTTPS and the expected final content.
- Old URLs absent from the original inventory.
Start with the sample or import your old and new page inventories.
Using Website Migration & Redirect Planner
Plan a website move with old and new URL inventories, suggested page matches, manual redirect approvals, loop and chain checks, page metadata inspection and downloadable redirect rules.
- Import or paste old and new URL lists, CSV metadata, JSON arrays or sitemap URL sets. Set base origins when importing relative paths.
- Run suggested matches, review each target and approve it, keep the URL unchanged or mark it Gone. Matching scores are suggestions, not live verification.
- Check the audit for loops, chains and missing targets. Save your project and export reviewed CSV/JSON or Apache/Nginx templates for staging tests.
Example
Try the sample migration. The article URLs have moved, the contact page is unchanged and an obsolete campaign can be marked Gone. Approve the good suggestions and inspect the audit before exporting.
Questions & answers
Does this crawl my website?
No. It works from your pasted or imported inventories and HTML. It does not fetch websites, verify live HTTP statuses, follow redirects or check Google indexing.
What can I import?
Plain URL lines, CSV with URL/address/loc/page and optional title/description/H1 columns, JSON arrays and sitemap URL sets. Sitemap index files need their child sitemap files imported separately; this tool does not download them.
How are suggested matches chosen?
The tool compares normalized paths, optional prefix replacement, URL words and imported titles/H1s. Up to three candidates appear per old URL. Scores measure these comparisons; they are not probabilities or proof that pages are equivalent.
Will it automatically approve redirects?
No. Suggestions remain in review until you approve them. The bulk action approves only currently selected rows with valid suggested targets. Review content intent before approval.
What does the audit check?
It checks the planned graph for self-redirects, loops, chains, missing targets, targets absent from the new inventory, HTTPS downgrades and redirects into Gone pages. It highlights intentional many-to-one consolidations for review.
Are the server exports ready to install?
They are configuration templates. Apache output targets Apache 2.4 .htaccess at the document root and restricts complex URL syntax. Nginx output uses http-level maps and old-host server checks. Exact source queries are matched; unsupported cases require JSON/CSV and manual server configuration. Test on staging before installation.
Can I reopen my migration?
Save the JSON project. It includes inventories, metadata, matching settings, decisions, notes and the launch checklist. No automatic local/server project saving is used.
What are the limits?
Up to 5,000 old and 5,000 new URLs, five million input characters and import files up to 5 MiB. Mapping results use paginated rows and full-plan search. URL fragments are removed when normalizing page addresses.
