GIF mode rounds to the nearest 10 ms with a 20 ms minimum, matching this site’s animation tools. Playback can still vary by browser. The manifest is a planning report, not an import format guaranteed by another application.
Using Animation Frame Timing Planner
Plan animation timing from frame groups, compare exact and GIF-rounded delays, inspect a visual sequence and export a frame timing manifest.
- Describe each animation section as label, frame count and per-frame delay or FPS. Use the example to explore.
- Choose exact or GIF-rounded timing and the number of plays. Review the visual timeline and any duration difference.
- Download the JSON timing manifest or audit CSV. This plans timings; it does not edit or export a GIF file.
Example
Try the included editable example. Choose exact or GIF-rounded timing and the number of plays. Review the visual timeline and any duration difference.
Questions & answers
Does this create an animation?
No. It plans frame timing from your CSV groups. Use GIF Maker or another editor to apply the timing to images.
Can different sections have different speeds?
Yes. Each row defines a group’s frame count and delay or FPS. Start and end times accumulate across all groups.
What does GIF rounding do?
It rounds each delay to the nearest 10 ms, then enforces a 20 ms minimum. The result shows how that changes the cycle duration.
What is average FPS?
Total planned frame count divided by planned cycle seconds. Variable-delay animations do not have a single constant frame rate.
What does zero plays mean?
Endless repeat. The report retains one cycle’s timings and marks finite total duration as unavailable rather than inventing an infinite numeric value.
What are the limits?
Up to 100 groups, 5,000 total frames and a ten-minute cycle. Input delays must be 1–60,000 ms or FPS 0.1–1,000. Plays must be a whole number 0–10,000.
