DOCX Header and Footer Batch Editor
Apply sections, first-page exceptions and running labels across documents.
Creates text-only headers/footers for selected sections. Protect linked sections keeps unselected sections on their previous inherited content by adding explicit references when needed. Original parts are retained. Page fields update in Word; the preview is not paginated.
Using DOCX Header and Footer Batch Editor
Apply sections, first-page exceptions and running labels across documents.
- Open up to eight unsigned DOCX documents, or try the two-document worked example. A saved review project can be reopened with the matching original files.
- Use the document navigator, search and review filter to inspect section references and select the sections that should use your text templates.
- Compare the original and staged structural previews. Undo/redo is available for review decisions; no operation writes to your original source files.
- Use Export to download an edited DOCX copy or batch ZIP, plus an Excel/CSV review matrix, self-contained report or JSON findings. Save the review project to continue later.
Example
The worked example includes two real DOCX documents with heading/body styles, numbered lists, classic comments, tracked text changes, a broken reference, linked section headers, language tags, embedded artwork and metadata.
Questions & answers
Does this edit the original DOCX?
No. Edits are staged in browser memory and exported as new DOCX copies. Untouched package parts are retained. Keep and inspect the original.
Is the preview identical to Microsoft Word?
No. It is a structural reading preview. Microsoft Word controls exact pagination, complex tables/drawings, fonts and field results. Open the exported file in your document editor for the final check.
What are the limits and supported features?
