From a real task to a useful result

Who this helps

For app developers, game designers and teams documenting their shortcuts.

Try this example

Ctrl+K and Control+K collide in the same context. Ctrl+K can also trigger before the longer chord Ctrl+K Ctrl+C completes. The same key in two separate contexts need not conflict.

Scope and limits

Up to 500 bindings, four chord steps per binding and 200 KB of CSV. Logical key names only, with a limited documented key vocabulary. No live keyboard interception, installed-app inspection or complete operating-system shortcut database.

Using Keyboard Shortcut Conflict Checker

Audit keyboard shortcuts for duplicate bindings, overlapping contexts, chord-prefix conflicts and common browser collisions. Export a clean shortcut cheat sheet.

  1. Paste or import action, shortcut, context CSV. Use global for a shortcut active everywhere.
  2. Select Windows/Linux or macOS. Mod becomes Ctrl or Command for that platform.
  3. Review duplicate and prefix conflicts, then inspect the advisory browser and unmodified-key notices.
  4. Filter the cheat sheet by context and download bindings CSV, the report or a printable HTML cheat sheet.

Example

Ctrl+K and Control+K collide in the same context. Ctrl+K can also trigger before the longer chord Ctrl+K Ctrl+C completes. The same key in two separate contexts need not conflict.

Questions & answers

Can the same shortcut be used twice?

Yes, when the listed contexts never overlap. Global overlaps every context; a pipe-separated list such as editor|canvas overlaps either one. The checker trusts the contexts you supply.

How do I enter a multi-step shortcut?

Join keys with + and separate steps with spaces, such as Mod+K Mod+C. Use named punctuation keys such as Plus, Comma and Slash.

Are browser notices definite errors?

No. They are common examples worth reviewing. Operating systems, keyboard layouts, assistive technology and browser settings vary. This is not a complete accessibility certification.

Does the tool change my shortcuts?

No. It analyzes your pasted list only. It does not listen for global keystrokes or modify your apps.

Can I keep my work for later?

Save project downloads your inputs and settings as JSON. Open project restores them. Undo and redo are available during this tab session; there is no automatic project save.
