Using Load Test Ramp Planner

Plan a linear user ramp from starting to target concurrency.

  1. Enter starting users, target users, users added per step, step duration using the units printed under each field.
  2. Choose Calculate, or enable live updates. Review the result labels and formula assumptions.
  3. Save scenarios to compare up to five variations, then copy the report or download JSON or CSV.

Example

Starting users: 10 users
Target users: 100 users
Users added per step: 10 users
Step duration: 30 seconds
Ramp steps: 9
Ramp duration · seconds: 270
Final step addition: 10

Questions & answers

What does Load Test Ramp Planner calculate?

Plan a linear user ramp from starting to target concurrency.

Which units should I enter?

Starting users uses users. Target users uses users. Users added per step uses users. Step duration uses seconds. Convert values to these units before calculating.

Which formula does it use?

Steps = ceiling((target−start)/increment); last step may be smaller.

What does the included example show?

Starting users: 10 users; Target users: 100 users; Users added per step: 10 users; Step duration: 30 seconds. Result: Ramp steps = 9; Ramp duration · seconds = 270; Final step addition = 10.

Can I compare different settings?

Yes. Save a scenario, change the inputs and save another result. Up to five scenarios are compared in this tab; they disappear when you reload or leave.

Can I export the calculation?

Copy the JSON report or download JSON and CSV with inputs, result labels and numeric values. Processing uses local JavaScript; no calculation request is sent to our server. Displayed values use up to 10 significant digits; exports retain JavaScript numeric precision.
