Scientific Calculator
Work with powers, roots, trigonometry, logarithms and factorials. Type an expression or use the keypad, choose angle units and reuse answers through memory or temporary history.
1. Expression & keypad
Enter an expression to begin.
Function buttons wrap selected text, or the whole expression. On an empty expression they place the cursor inside parentheses. % always divides by 100: 200 + 10% is 200.1; use 200 × (1 + 10%) for a relative increase.

Expression reference
Constants: pi or π, e, ans, m. Operators: +, −, ×, ÷, ^, postfix ! and %. Parentheses and comma-separated function arguments are supported. Use 2pi or 2(3 + 4) for implicit multiplication; use explicit operators between adjacent numbers.
Functions: sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, sinh, cosh, tanh, sqrt, cbrt, abs, ln, log, log10, exp, floor, ceil, round. Also min(a,b,…), max(a,b,…), pow(a,b), mod(a,b), and log(value, base). log(value) is base 10; ln is natural log. Inverse trigonometric results use the selected angle unit. Hyperbolic functions use their plain numeric argument.
Powers associate right to left: 2^3^2 = 512. Powers bind before unary signs: −2^2 = −4; (−2)^2 = 4. 0^0 follows the JavaScript numeric convention and returns 1. mod uses signed remainder, so mod(−5,3) = −2. round follows JavaScript rounding, including ties toward positive infinity.
Finite real-number calculations only. Floating-point arithmetic is approximate and can lose precision at extreme magnitudes; results are not arbitrary precision. Factorials: whole inputs 0–170. Expressions: 1,000 characters / 400 tokens / 60 nesting levels. Display format rounds to 1–15 significant digits for automatic/scientific, or that many decimal places for fixed format; Ans and memory retain the unrounded value. AC clears the expression and Ans; memory/history have separate clear controls. No processing upload or saved calculation history. Website ads and analytics follow the privacy information.
Using Scientific Calculator
Calculate a clear expression with a visible result, angle mode, reusable answers and temporary history.
- Type an expression or use the keypad. Choose degrees or radians for trigonometry.
- Press Calculate or Enter. Change the result format to inspect rounded values.
- Reuse Ans or memory, or download the last 20 successful calculations as JSON.
Example
sqrt(3^2+4^2) returns 5. Use sin(30) in degrees for 0.5, or sin(pi/2) in radians for 1.
Questions & answers
How do percentages work?
Postfix % divides its operand by100. Thus200+10% is 200.1; use200*(1+10%) for a relative increase.
What is the order of operations?
Powers bind before unary signs and associate right to left. -2^2 is-4, (-2)^2 is 4 and 2^3^2 is 512.
Which angle units are supported?
Degrees and radians. The selected mode controls trigonometric inputs and inverse trigonometric results. Hyperbolic functions use plain numeric arguments.
Are calculations exact?
Calculations use JavaScript floating-point numbers. Display formatting rounds the result, while Ans and memory retain its unrounded numeric value. Very large fixed-format values may remain in exponent notation.
What functions can I use?
Powers, roots, logarithms, trigonometric and hyperbolic functions, factorials, extrema, rounding and signed remainder. See the expression reference for the full list and syntax.
Is history saved?
The latest20 successful calculations remain in this page session. Download history JSON to keep them. No calculation history is automatically saved or uploaded for processing. Website ads and analytics follow the privacy information.
