Questions & answers
Can I paste from Excel or Google Sheets?
Yes. A copied rectangular selection usually uses tabs between columns. Choose TSV input. Quoted multiline fields are parsed with the existing local Papa Parse library.
Does it preserve Markdown inside cells?
Cells are treated as literal text. Selected Markdown controls and HTML angle brackets are encoded to prevent pasted text from becoming links, formatting or executable HTML.
How are vertical bars handled?
They become the entity | so a literal pipe does not create an extra Markdown column.
Can a cell contain several lines?
Yes, with correctly quoted CSV or TSV fields. Choose <br> for destinations that allow HTML line breaks, or spaces for plain text cells.
What if rows have different column counts?
The tool rejects inconsistent rows rather than silently shifting or deleting cells. Correct the source or use CSV Table Editor first.
What are the limits?
Use up to 100,000 input characters, 30 columns and 200 data rows. Source padding is capped for wide cells. GitHub-flavored table support is required in the destination.
