1. Enter your numbers

English short-scale names: billion = 1,000 million. Use plain digits, a decimal point, optional sign and valid comma groups. Limits: 24 integer digits, 12 decimal digits and 100 nonempty lines. Ordinals require whole numbers. Leading integer zeros are normalized; decimal precision is retained in number mode.

2. Read & reuse

One output line per valid input number. Errors are listed below and excluded from copied/downloaded wording.

Using Numbers to Words Converter

Write plain numbers in English using exact digit handling. Convert cardinal numbers, ordinals or currency amounts, including batches, without floating-point rounding of large integers.

  1. Enter one number per line. Choose Numbers, Ordinals or Currency amounts; use the samples to explore decimals and large values.
  2. Select US or UK wording, group commas, letter case and decimal reading. Currency mode supports unit names, optional exact two-place rounding and minor-unit fractions.
  3. Read valid wording lines, review errors and normalized amounts in the details, and copy or download TXT. JSON includes every input and conversion error.

Example

9007199254740993 keeps its exact integer digits; the tool does not pass the number through floating-point arithmetic. 0.010 reads zero point zero one zero in digit mode.
In currency mode, 1.01 is one dollar and one cent. 1.005 is rejected by default; with rounding enabled it becomes 1.01, and -1.005 becomes -1.01.

Questions & answers

Which languages and scale are supported?

Wording is in English with US or UK conjunction choices. It uses the short scale: one billion equals one thousand million. Values below one septillion are supported, up to 24 integer digits.

Will large integers lose precision?

No. Integer groups and currency rounding use digit strings and integer arithmetic. Unsafe JavaScript-number values are not silently rounded. Leading integer zeros are normalized because they do not change the numerical value.

How are decimals read?

Digit mode reads each fractional digit, including zeros. Fraction mode uses the fractional numerator and its original decimal denominator, so 0.050 is zero and fifty thousandths. It does not reduce the fraction. Up to 12 decimal places are supported.

Can I convert ordinal numbers?

Yes. Select Ordinals to produce first, second, twenty-first, one hundredth and similar wording. Decimal inputs are rejected in ordinal mode. Negative inputs retain a minus prefix.

Does currency mode convert exchange rates?

No. It writes an amount with English currency unit names. Dollar/cent, euro/cent, pound/penny and custom labels are supported. Custom amounts assume 100 minor units per major unit.

What happens to currency amounts with extra decimals?

They are rejected unless rounding is enabled. Rounding uses decimal digits exactly and rounds absolute half ties up, away from zero. For example, 1.005 becomes 1.01 and -1.005 becomes -1.01. The report identifies formatted amounts.

What input formats work?

Plain decimal digits, an optional leading sign, a decimal point and valid three-digit comma grouping. Scientific notation, currency symbols and embedded spaces are not accepted. Limits are 24 integer digits, 12 decimal digits and 100 nonempty lines.

What happens to invalid batch lines?

Each invalid line has an error in the review section and JSON report. Valid lines are still converted. Copied and TXT wording contain only valid lines, in their original order; JSON preserves line numbers.

Are my inputs uploaded?
