Explore a preset, then edit the controls. Results update when you leave a field or select an option.

A worked example

A standard normal distribution places about 68.27% of its probability between -1 and +1. Ten fair coin flips have probability 65.625% of four through six successes.

Scope and practical limits

Binomial trials 1–200; Poisson mean >0 to 100; 10–5,000 samples. Continuous curves use 241 points. Normal interval probability is approximate. Educational exploration, not validated statistical simulation.

Using Probability Distribution Explorer

Explore normal, uniform, exponential, binomial and Poisson distributions with probability intervals, density or mass charts and reproducible sample exports.

  1. Choose a preset to see a worked example, then edit the labeled values.
  2. Inspect the live chart and result summary. Read any warnings about assumptions or unsupported inputs.
  3. Review the calculation table, which shows 50 rows per page. Exports contain all available result rows.
  4. Export the chart as SVG or PNG and the data as CSV or JSON. Save a project to reopen your inputs later.

Example

A standard normal distribution places about 68.27% of its probability between -1 and +1. Ten fair coin flips have probability 65.625% of four through six successes.

Questions & answers

Is chart height the probability?

Only discrete probability mass gives probability at a particular integer. A continuous density must be integrated across an interval; a single exact point has zero probability.

Are the samples suitable for scientific conclusions?

They are repeatable exploratory fixtures from a seeded generator. They are not a validated Monte Carlo or cryptographic random source.

Can I keep editing later?

Save project downloads the inputs and options as JSON. Open project restores that file. Undo and redo remain available during this tab session.

Are images and data exports free?

Yes. Chart SVG/PNG and data CSV/JSON exports do not require an account. Specialized exports are shown beside the result when supported.
