Sewing Pattern Print & Assembly

Tile large PDF sewing patterns onto A4 or Letter paper at a chosen scale. Select supported size layers, crop pages, add overlap, calibration squares and assembly guides.

Pattern & tile preview

Preview uses the PDF’s declared page dimensions.

Open a PDF or try the example.

Print exported pages at Actual size / 100%, then verify the calibration square.

Choose chart tiles

Tile choices apply to the preview page; source-page range determines which pages are exported. Every selected source page receives an assembly/calibration guide.

Using Sewing Pattern Print & Assembly

Tile large PDF sewing patterns onto A4 or Letter paper at a chosen scale. Select supported size layers, crop pages, add overlap, calibration squares and assembly guides.

  1. Open your original pattern PDF or try the large-page example. Choose the source pages and inspect available size layers.
  2. Set paper size, scale, margins and overlap. Optionally crop or rotate the source, choose individual tiles and review the assembly grid.
  3. Export the printable PDF. Print at Actual size / 100%, measure the 50 mm calibration square and assemble tiles using their labels, overlap and alignment marks.

Example

Try the 200 × 400 mm example pattern.
At 100% on A4 with 10 mm margins and overlap, it creates four chart tiles and one assembly/calibration page.

Questions & answers

Will the pattern print at its original size?

At 100% workspace scale, source PDF page dimensions are retained in the tile layout. Your printer must also use Actual size / 100% and avoid Fit to page. Measure the 50 mm calibration square before cutting fabric. The displayed preview is not a physical size reference.

Can I choose just one garment size?

Only when the PDF contains optional content groups for size layers. Ordinary artwork with several size lines cannot be separated automatically. Layer names come from the source file; select the intended size and any needed labels or instructions.

What is the difference between vector and flattened export?

Auto preserves vector page artwork for unrotated PDFs without optional layers. Layered or rotated pages are flattened through PDF.js with your current layer visibility at 150, 200 or 300 DPI. Vector mode is rejected for those pages rather than ignoring your selection. Annotations, forms, links and original PDF layer editing are not retained.

How are tiles assembled?

Each source page gets a numbered assembly guide, followed by labeled chart tiles. Neighboring tiles share the selected overlap. Dashed guides identify overlap boundaries and crosses mark the chart corners. Omitted tiles are marked in the guide.

Can settings be reopened later?

Save settings downloads a small JSON file. Open the original PDF first, then restore it. The source PDF is not included; confirm the loaded source matches the saved filename.

What limits apply?

32 MiB input, 100 source pages, 100 optional layers and 120 selected chart tiles per export batch. Raster tiles support up to 10 million pixels each and 64 MiB of compressed images per batch. Export jobs have a two-minute timeout and cancellation.

Are pattern files uploaded?

PDF parsing, preview and export happen in your browser. Public page advertising and optional analytics are covered by the site privacy policy.
