Questions & answers

What can Subtitles ↔ CSV Converter convert?

Convert SRT or plain WebVTT cues to editable CSV rows and rebuild timed subtitles from the table.

Which format rules should I check?

CSV schema: start_ms,end_ms,text. Supports plain timed cues; VTT styling/settings and advanced metadata are rejected rather than discarded. Offset applies in either direction. Spreadsheet-safe CSV output prefixes formula-like text with an apostrophe. Choose lossless text for exact content round trips.

Can I convert several files?

Yes. Open up to 10 files, select the settings and choose Convert files to ZIP. The status table identifies converted and failed files. The downloaded ZIP includes outputs and an audit; failures are not silently treated as successful.

How do I check the result?

Review the converted preview and audit before downloading. Check the stated format limitations, especially timing precision, omitted CSV columns and address metadata. Binary output downloads the actual bytes, not the hex preview.

What are the limits?

Text input up to 200,000 characters; files up to 2 MiB; up to 10 files in a ZIP batch. Table converters allow 1,000 rows and 100 columns.

Is input sent to a conversion service?

The conversion runs locally in a browser worker with bundled scripts. No conversion API is called. Copying and downloads happen only when you click their buttons. Saved comparisons stay in this tab and are cleared by reload. Ad-supported pages can load third-party scripts.
