Questions & answers

Does it translate automatically?

No. This is a translation review and editing workspace. It does not call a translation API.

Which formats are supported?

Nested JSON objects with string leaves, comma-separated CSV with key and source/translation/value columns, common UTF-8 PO entries including context and indexed plurals, and plain-text XLIFF 1.2/2.x units with one segment. Inline XLIFF markup and non-string JSON values are rejected.

Is file structure preserved?

JSON paths and PO context/plural entries are retained. PO comments, fuzzy flags and original headers are not retained; configure your application’s plural headers separately. XLIFF export creates a plain-text 1.2 document without original metadata or segment state. CSV is a useful interchange format.

What do warnings mean?

Warnings flag missing translations, recognized placeholder differences, edge whitespace, line-break differences and text expansion. They are review aids, not a complete ICU MessageFormat or linguistic validator.

What limits apply?

Up to 10,000 strings per file, 4 MiB text input, 20 target languages and 75 visible rows per page. Project imports support 16 MiB.

Are files uploaded?

Translation processing happens in this browser. Public pages may also load ads and optional analytics, described in the privacy policy.
