Read the result in context

Left-to-right saddle-stitch numbering only, not a print-ready PDF or a printer-specific duplex instruction. Check paper flipping with a physical dummy first.

How to use Zine Folio & Signature Mapper

    1. Explore the worked example. Number reading sections, pad to full signatures and inspect left/right folios for each folded sheet.
    2. Replace the zine sections with your own entries. Set pages per signature · multiple of 4.
    3. Choose “Map the folded sheets”. Review sheet-side mapping and section reading ranges, then compare the visual overview with the detailed tables.
    4. Capture alternative scenarios, download a reusable project and export the selected table or a report when you are ready.

    A starting point

Number reading sections, pad to full signatures and inspect left/right folios for each folded sheet. The example is illustrative and can be replaced.

    Know what you are comparing

Will the map match every printer’s duplex settings?

No. The map shows saddle-stitch folio positions, not a ready-to-print artwork file. Check sheet orientation, duplex flipping and printer requirements with a small physical proof.

    Files, privacy & saving

Calculations run locally in a browser worker. Input CSV files use the column names in the downloadable template and keep your current settings. Projects restore inputs and up to four scenarios. Imports are limited to 1 MiB and 100 entries. There is no automatic saving. Public pages include advertising and optional analytics; see our privacy policy.

CSV exports contain the entire selected table. JSON and printable HTML reports include all result tables; open the report and use your browser’s Print command for PDF.
