How to use Bilingual Subtitle Workspace
- Paste or open a first subtitle track and a translated track. The first track supplies the exported cue times.
- Select time-overlap matching or cue-order matching. Set a translation time shift, multiplier or overlap threshold if the tracks are out of sync, then Align tracks.
- Review missing translations and unmatched cues. Enter translation cue numbers to change a pair, or directly edit the text and timing of each source cue.
- Optionally open a local video. Play it to preview the bilingual captions, or use Seek video on a cue. The separate caption area previews your paired text.
- Choose line order and download SRT, WebVTT or an alignment CSV. Save an alignment project to retain manual edits; aligning the source tracks again replaces them.
Limits and supported output
Up to 1,000 cues and 300,000 characters per track. Optional video preview uses browser-supported local media. This pairs existing translations; it does not translate language. Export is plain text and drops subtitle styling and positioning.

Questions & answers
Does this automatically translate subtitles?
No. Provide the original and translated tracks. The tool pairs them by overlapping time or cue order; you can manually change each pair.
Which timing controls the bilingual output?
The first track sets each cue’s start and end. The second track can be shifted and stretched for matching. Timing can then be edited per cue.
Are unmatched translations discarded?
They are listed for review and included in the alignment CSV. The bilingual subtitle export contains first-track cues with the translations you paired.
What are the limits?
Up to 1,000 cues and 300,000 characters per track. Optional video preview uses browser-supported local media. This pairs existing translations; it does not translate language. Export is plain text and drops subtitle styling and positioning.
