High-side string at top. Bright circles mark the root. Click any position for its pitch; preview tones are synthesized, not a guitar recording.
Select a fret to inspect its pitch.
Play & download the pattern
Plays each distinct highlighted pitch once, across the visible strings and frets. No automatic chord strumming or guitar samples.
Mono 44.1 kHz · WAV: lossless 16-bit PCM · MP3: 192 kbps, lossy, with possible encoder padding. Exports contain one pass; Loop affects playback only. Maximum 120 seconds.
This map finds pitches and intervals, not playable chord fingerings. A highlighted row is not a suggested shape. Numbers are relative frets from the capo; physical fret = capo + displayed fret.
From a scale name to a practice plan
- Choose your tuning. For a custom instrument, enter 4–8 note/octave names in string order (C0–C8). Ukulele uses reentrant G4 C4 E4 A4.
- Pick a root and scale or chord-tone set. Roots stay bright; switch to interval labels to see relationships.
- Narrow the fret range to practice a small position. Mirror the neck if that is more comfortable.
- Enable sound to click notes, or play the highlighted pitches at your own tempo. Download WAV/MP3 practice audio, an SVG diagram or a note list. Save settings to reopen later.
Uses twelve-tone equal temperament with A4 = 440 Hz. Each fret and capo step adds a semitone. Fret zero is the open string relative to the capo. This is not a microphone tuner, notation editor or physical intonation simulation. Enharmonic spelling follows your preference and may differ from conventional scale spelling.
Projects contain settings only; nothing is uploaded or automatically stored. SVG diagrams remain editable in vector applications. CSV lists highlighted positions in original string order, including octave and frequency.

Questions & answers
Does it generate chord fingerings?
No. It highlights all matching pitch classes; it does not choose playable shapes, barre positions or finger numbers.
Which instruments are supported?
Presets include guitar, bass, seven-string and reentrant ukulele. Custom tuning accepts 4–8 strings with open pitches C0–C8.
How does the capo work?
It adds the selected semitone offset to every string. Fret labels are relative to the capo, so physical fret equals displayed fret plus capo.
Can I hear the notes?
Enable sound, then click a position. Preview uses a short synthesized tone at A4 = 440 Hz equal temperament, not a recorded instrument or tuner.
Can I save diagrams?
Yes. Export a vector SVG diagram, CSV of highlighted pitches or a small JSON settings project. Nothing is uploaded or automatically saved.
