How to use PDF Comparison Workspace

  1. Open the original PDF on the left and the revised PDF on the right. The sample includes one changed page and one unchanged page.
  2. Choose a page on each side. Select render detail and a tolerance for small pixel differences, then Compare page pair.
  3. Switch between Side by side, Differences, Overlay and Wipe. Use the position slider with Overlay or Wipe; review added and removed words in the text comparison.
  4. Use Compare all for a page-by-page report. If a revision inserts a page, manually compare the matching page numbers instead.
  5. Download the current visual comparison as PNG, a CSV summary of completed page comparisons, or the original/revised extracted text.

Limits and supported output

Two unencrypted PDFs, 25 MiB and 100 pages each. Visual analysis renders at a selected maximum edge of 600–1,600 pixels. It is not a forensic, signature or accessibility audit; scans have no text without OCR.

Questions & answers

Does it compare the original PDF structure?

No. Visual comparison uses rendered pixels; text comparison uses the extracted text layer. Fonts, color management, rendering and layout changes can affect results.

What if pages have been inserted?

Select the matching left and right page manually. Compare all uses same-numbered pages and explicitly flags pages missing from one side.

Does it find text in scans?

Only existing selectable PDF text is compared. Scanned images require OCR first.
