Clean copy
Choose a photo to see its dimensions and metadata containers.
Visible details inside the photo are not removed. This is a metadata-container inspection, not a complete forensic privacy audit.
How to use Photo Metadata Privacy Cleaner
- Add static JPEG, PNG or WebP files. Choose an image in the inspection menu to review its metadata containers.
- Choose PNG for a copy without lossy compression, or JPEG/WebP for smaller files. Optionally reduce the longest edge and choose a background for JPEG transparency.
- Create clean copies. Each file is decoded, re-encoded and checked for the supported metadata containers. Review any per-file failures.
- Compare the original and output previews. Download the selected copy, a ZIP containing successful copies, or a CSV inspection report.
Limits and supported output
Up to 30 static images, 20 MiB each, 100 MiB total and 25 million pixels per image. Cleaning re-encodes decoded pixels; PNG avoids lossy compression but color profiles and pixel values can change. JPEG/WebP are lossy. Animated images are rejected.

Example
The sample JPEG contains an embedded comment. A clean output removes the comment container.
Questions & answers
Is the original compressed image preserved?
No. This creates a new raster image from browser-decoded pixels and removes supported EXIF, XMP, comments and text metadata containers from the result. Use PNG Metadata Remover for lossless PNG chunk removal.
Can this hide private content visible in a photo?
No. Faces, addresses, screens and other visible information remain in the picture. Inspect the preview before sharing.
What does the metadata inspection show?
It identifies embedded metadata containers and basic image information. It does not decode every vendor-specific tag or display GPS coordinates.
