How to use it

  1. Open or start. Drop a PSD, PSB, image or .tsps project on the editor, use Open, paste an image with Ctrl+V, or pick a preset size on the start screen.
  2. Pick a tool from the left rail. Its settings appear in the bar above the canvas; hover a tool to see its shortcut, and right-click or long-press tools with a corner mark for alternatives.
  3. Work in layers. The Layers panel adds layers, groups, masks (black hides, white reveals), adjustment layers and styles (fx). Select a layer to edit it in Properties.
  4. Need room? Press Full screen (or F). Esc or F exits; artwork, undo history and unsaved changes stay as they are. Tab hides the panels.
  5. Save. Save ▸ project (.tsps) keeps every editor feature, Save ▸ PSD/PSB is for Photoshop and other apps, and Export makes PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF or BMP at any scale.

Examples to try

  • Poster: on the start screen choose Try an example, double-click the title to edit it, then open Layer ▸ Layer style for shadows and glows.
  • Photo touch-up: open a photo, add a Curves adjustment from the Adjust tab, then paint its mask with a soft black brush to limit the effect.
  • Pixel sprite: start the 32 × 32 pixel canvas, draw with the pencil (N), then export at 4× or 8× with nearest-neighbour scaling for crisp pixels.
  • Cut out: select with the magic wand (W) or lasso (L), press Ctrl+J to copy the selection to a new layer, then hide the original.

Formats

OpenPSD and PSB (RGB or grayscale with layers; CMYK, Lab, indexed, bitmap, duotone and multichannel as one flattened image), PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP, AVIF, SVG, ICO, .tsps projects and older ToolSorcerer JSON projects.
SaveLayered 8-bit RGB PSD or PSB, and .tsps projects (ZIP with every layer and setting).
ExportPNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF (where the browser supports it), BMP; whole image, selection, single layer or all layers as a PNG ZIP.

Compatibility and limits

  • Kept as editable Photoshop data: pixel layers, groups, layer and vector masks, blend modes, opacity, fill, clipping masks, locks, text layers, shape and fill layers, common adjustment layers, drop/inner shadow, outer/inner glow, stroke, colour and gradient overlays, guides and resolution. Layers you do not change are written back from their original records.
  • Approximate: bevel, satin, pattern overlays/fills, blend-if and dissolve are kept in the file but previewed simplified or not at all; brightness/contrast and hue/saturation previews are close but not identical to Photoshop. Edited smart objects become pixel layers; edited text that mixed fonts or colours becomes one style.
  • Not supported: 3D, video and timeline layers, alpha and spot channels, the Paths panel, Photoshop history, and saving CMYK or 16/32-bit (files are saved as 8-bit RGB). High-bit files are edited at 8 bits.
  • Limits: 16,000 px per side, 50 megapixels per document, 1,000 layers, 200 megapixels of layer and mask data in total and files up to 1 GB. Larger PSDs can be opened as a flattened image. Opening can be cancelled.
  • Tested with public psd-tools sample files and files saved by this editor; not certified against every Photoshop version, so keep your original file. Unsaved work is kept for crash recovery in this browser only.

Using PSD Studio

A full photo and design editor in your browser. Open PSD, PSB or image files, edit them with layers, masks, selections, brushes, editable text, shapes, adjustment layers, filters and layer styles, work in full screen, then save a layered PSD, an editable project or an exported image. Nothing is uploaded.

  1. Open a PSD, PSB, image or .tsps project (drop it on the editor, use Open, or paste an image), or start from a preset size or an example.
  2. Pick tools from the left rail and adjust them in the options bar; use the Layers panel for layers, groups, masks, adjustment layers and styles, and Properties for the selected layer.
  3. Press Full screen (or F) for more room; Esc or F exits without changing your artwork, history or unsaved work.
  4. Save a .tsps project to keep everything editable, save a PSD/PSB for Photoshop, or Export PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF or BMP at any scale.

Example

Open a photo, add a Curves adjustment layer from the Adjust tab, paint its mask with a soft black brush to limit the effect, add a title with a drop shadow, then save as PSD.

Questions & answers

Which Photoshop features are preserved?

In RGB and grayscale PSD/PSB files: pixel layers, groups, layer and vector masks, blend modes, opacity, fill, clipping masks, locks, text layers, shape and fill layers, common adjustment layers and the main layer styles. Layers you do not change are written back from their original records. This was tested with public psd-tools sample files and files saved by the editor, not certified against every Photoshop version, so keep your original.

What cannot be preserved?

3D, video and timeline layers, alpha and spot channels, the Paths panel and Photoshop history are not supported. Bevel, satin, pattern and blend-if settings are kept in the file but not fully previewed. Files are saved as 8-bit RGB; edited smart objects become pixel layers and edited multi-style text becomes one style.

What about CMYK, Lab or indexed files?

They open as one flattened RGB image (uncompressed, RLE or ZIP-compressed data) using a simple conversion without ICC profiles. Their layers are not editable.

Which formats can I open and export?

Open PSD/PSB, PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP, AVIF, SVG, ICO and .tsps projects. Save layered 8-bit RGB PSD/PSB or .tsps projects. Export PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF (where supported) or BMP, for the whole image, a selection, one layer or all layers as a PNG ZIP.

How does full screen work?

Press the Full screen button or F. The editor fills the screen with all menus, tools, panels, dialogs and export controls; Esc or F returns to the page. Only the view is resized: the document size, artwork, undo history and unsaved changes are kept. If the browser blocks full screen (for example on iPhone), the editor fills the browser window instead.

Does it work for pixel art?

Yes. Small canvases use crisp nearest-neighbour display, a 1-pixel pencil, a pixel grid when zoomed in and whole-number export scaling, and original dimensions are kept.

Are files uploaded?

No. Opening, editing and saving happen in your browser. Unsaved work is kept for crash recovery in this browser only.

What are the limits?

Up to 16,000 pixels per side, 50 megapixels per document, 1,000 layers and 200 megapixels of layer and mask data in total, and files up to 1 GB. Larger PSDs can be opened as a flattened image instead. Opening can be cancelled while it runs.
