Scope and practical limits

Widths 0–1,000 graphemes; padding must be exactly one grapheme. Output cap 500,000 UTF-16 units. Center puts an odd extra pad on the right. Grapheme length does not guarantee visual alignment.

Using Unicode Grapheme Padding & Alignment

Pad, center or right-align text lines without splitting emoji or combining sequences, with explicit overflow truncation controls.

  1. Load the example or enter text. Choose segmentation and transformation rules explicitly.
  2. Inspect output and original-position or frequency audits. Review any formatting changes or limitations.
  3. Copy or download text and audit data; save a project to retain editable input and settings.

Example

A joined family emoji counts as one grapheme; padding and truncation keep the sequence intact.

Questions & answers

Which limits and conventions apply?

Widths 0–1,000 graphemes; padding must be exactly one grapheme. Output cap 500,000 UTF-16 units. Center puts an odd extra pad on the right. Grapheme length does not guarantee visual alignment.

Can the output differ between browsers?

Language segmentation and grapheme boundaries use the browser Intl.Segmenter implementation. Use the same browser/version when you need reproducible segmentation. Visual glyph width depends on fonts.

Is my work saved automatically?

No. Save a project or download your result before leaving. Processing is local; site ads and analytics follow the website consent and privacy settings.
