2D CAD & DXF Editor
Full workspaceOpen, view, measure and edit DXF drawings in your browser – no AutoCAD license needed. Draw lines, polylines, rectangles, circles, arcs, text and dimensions with snapping and typed coordinates (10,20 · @5,0 · 50<30), move, copy, rotate, scale and mirror, organise layers, then save a DXF or export SVG, PDF and PNG.
Drawings stay on your device. Reads ASCII DXF (most versions); writes DXF R12, which AutoCAD, LibreCAD, QCAD and laser/CNC software open.
Using 2D CAD & DXF Editor
A free 2D CAD program in your browser for opening, checking and editing DXF drawings when you don’t have AutoCAD or your CAD software won’t start. Open a DXF from a client, a laser cutter or a supplier, hide and colour layers, measure distances and areas, draw and edit geometry with object snaps and typed coordinates, add dimensions and text, then save a DXF or export an SVG, a PDF at a true scale or a PNG.
- Open a .dxf with the Open button or drag it onto the drawing; use Fit (Z) to see the whole drawing. Scroll or pinch to zoom, drag with the middle button (or the hand tool) to pan.
- Pick a tool on the left or type its short command: L line, PL polyline, REC rectangle, C circle, A arc, T text, DIM dimension, MEA measure.
- Click points on the drawing (snaps show endpoints, midpoints, centres and intersections) or type coordinates: 10,20 absolute, @5,0 relative, 50<30 for a length and angle, or just a length in the cursor direction.
- Select objects by clicking or dragging a box, then edit their sizes in Properties, drag their grips, or use M move, CO copy, RO rotate, SC scale and MI mirror.
- Organise layers in the Layers tab, then save a DXF or export SVG, PNG or a PDF at fit-to-page or a scale such as 1:10.
Example
A laser shop sends a DXF of a mounting plate: open it, click the large hole to read its diameter (40 mm), measure the hole spacing with MEA (130 mm) and export a 1:1 PDF to check against the real part. To draw a 50 × 30 rectangle starting at 0,0: type REC, Enter, 0,0, Enter, then @50,30 and Enter.
Questions & answers
Can I open DXF files without AutoCAD?
Yes. This viewer and editor reads ASCII DXF files from AutoCAD, LibreCAD, QCAD, Fusion, SolidWorks, Inkscape and most CAM programs, including layers, blocks, polylines with arcs, splines, text and dimensions.
Can it open DWG files?
No. DWG is a closed format. Save or export the drawing as DXF from the program that made it, or ask the sender for a DXF.
Which DXF version does it save?
DXF R12 (AC1009), the most widely supported version. AutoCAD, LibreCAD, QCAD, Inkscape, laser cutters and CNC software open it. Ellipses and splines are saved as polylines and dimensions as lines and text.
How do I measure a distance or area?
Use the measure tool (MEA) and click two points, using snaps for exact corners or centres. Clicking a circle, arc, line or closed polyline shows its length and area in Properties.
Can I print to scale?
Yes. In the Drawing tab, pick a paper size and a scale such as 1:1, 1:10 or 1:100, then export the PDF. Set the drawing units first so the scale is correct.
What is not supported?
Hatches, images, 3D objects, xrefs, binary DXF and DWG are not shown. The panel lists anything from your file that was left out.
Is my drawing uploaded?
No. The file is read and saved in your browser and the drawing is kept in this browser between visits.
