Clock Drift Synchronizer
Align recording and sensor timestamps using matching reference events, linear clock drift or piecewise correction. Inspect residuals and export aligned CSV data.
Start with the worked example. Results update when you leave a field or select an option.
From a real task to a useful result
Who this helps
For creators, researchers and anyone combining logs from separate clocks.
Try this example
A source clock reads 600 seconds when the reference reads 602.12 seconds, after starting 2 seconds behind. Anchors at 0, 600 and 1200 seconds recover a 1.0002 correction ratio and a 2-second shift.
Scope and limits
2–100 strictly increasing anchor pairs; up to 5,000 timestamp records, 30 columns and 200 KB of pasted or imported CSV per field. Elapsed times only: no time zones, calendar dates, automatic event detection or media re-encoding.

Using Clock Drift Synchronizer
Align recording and sensor timestamps using matching reference events, linear clock drift or piecewise correction. Inspect residuals and export aligned CSV data.
- Enter matching source and reference event times. Use seconds or HH:MM:SS.mmm.
- Choose a constant offset, a least-squares linear drift fit or interpolation between anchors.
- Paste a data CSV with timestamps in its first column. Choose whether to extend or skip outside the anchor range.
- Inspect residuals and flagged rows, then export the aligned CSV, JSON report or diagram.
Example
A source clock reads 600 seconds when the reference reads 602.12 seconds, after starting 2 seconds behind. Anchors at 0, 600 and 1200 seconds recover a 1.0002 correction ratio and a 2-second shift.
Questions & answers
Does this fix my actual video or audio file?
No. It aligns timestamp data and reports a correction model. Apply a suitable timing or resampling adjustment in your media editor separately.
What is the difference between offset and drift?
An offset adds the same delay everywhere. Linear drift also changes the time scale; piecewise alignment uses a different scale between each pair of reference events.
Why can piecewise correction show zero residual?
It passes through every supplied anchor by construction. That does not confirm the anchors are accurate or that timing between them is perfectly linear.
What happens outside my reference events?
Extend uses the chosen model, including the first or last segment for piecewise mode. Skip leaves the corrected fields empty. Every affected row is labeled.
Can I keep my work for later?
Save project downloads your inputs and settings as JSON. Open project restores them. Undo and redo are available during this tab session; there is no automatic project save.
