Color family

Green colors

Muted sage, bright mint and stronger foliage greens

Working with green colors

This family now spans four different green directions: forest green, yellow-leaning olive, muted sage and bright mint. Their lightness and saturation vary substantially, so the same foreground or outline will not work equally well on every shade.

Try sage for a soft surface, mint for a small highlight and darker green for structural foliage. Keep readable text and labeled states separate from decorative references.

Families are editorial groupings, not strict hue boundaries. Teal and turquoise sit in blue-green territory; a different project may group them with greens.

A color name is a starting point

Digital codes describe sRGB colors. Natural objects, paint, ink and screens can look different under different lighting or calibration. Visual references illustrate color families rather than exact measured matches. Placeholder illustrations are clearly labeled. Design ideas are suggestions, not universal claims about emotion or culture.
