Embroidery Design Preparation
Draw or import outlines, plan basic stitches, arrange thread colors and simulate the sequence. Export a checked DST, stitch CSV, SVG artwork and editable design.
Try the example or click the hoop to draw an outline.
Click to draw points · Enter to finish · Escape to discard. In selection mode, drag an outline to move it; arrow keys nudge it by 1 mm (Shift: 5 mm).
Basic stitch planning, not automatic professional digitizing. Review density, jumps, thread ends and machine compatibility.
Using Embroidery Design Preparation
Draw or import outlines, plan basic stitches, arrange thread colors and simulate the sequence. Export a checked DST, stitch CSV, SVG artwork and editable design.
- Try the flower example or draw outlines in the hoop. Import SVG outlines or add a reference image, then set thread colors and stitch types.
- Set stitch length, row spacing and fill angle. Generate the plan, inspect jumps and hoop fit, and simulate the sewing sequence.
- Export DST with its thread-list report, CSV or SVG. Review in embroidery software and test-sew on scrap fabric before machine use.
Example
Try the flower badge. Its filled center, running outlines and zigzag stem demonstrate basic stitch planning and multiple thread changes.
Questions & answers
Is this professional automatic digitizing?
No. It plans basic running, zigzag and scanline fill stitches. It lacks optimized routing, pull compensation, professional satin columns, tie-in/tie-off and fabric simulation. Review plans with embroidery software and perform a test sew.
Does DST retain thread colors?
Standard DST stores movements and color-change commands, not your chosen thread colors or hoop settings. Download the thread-list report and assign actual threads in embroidery software or at the machine.
What does checked DST mean?
Exported displacements are quantized to 0.1 mm, split to the supported record range and decoded again to check record count, color changes and final position. This checks encoding, not suitability for your machine, fabric, needles or tension.
Can I import a photo?
Reference images can be traced manually. They are not automatically digitized. SVG imports become sampled outlines with one default thread color; compound holes, source styles and clipping are not preserved. Confirm outlines before generating stitches.
Are jumps trimmed automatically?
No. The plan uses jump movements between separate paths and fill rows. Automatic trim commands and lock stitches are not generated. Plan manual cuts and secure thread ends as appropriate.
What limits apply?
100 shapes, 10,000 design points, 50,000 planned commands, 100,000 DST records, 4 MiB SVG, 16 MiB reference images and 8 MiB projects. SVG uses the existing local outline importer.
What gets saved?
Projects save outline geometry, thread colors and settings. Reference images are not embedded. Plans are regenerated from the editable shapes. Browser processing does not upload designs. Site ads and optional analytics follow the privacy policy.
