How to Use

Upload, drag & drop, or paste an image to start editing instantly.
Choose "Apply To":
- Entire Image - apply the effect to the whole image.
- Selected Areas - affect only the regions you create.
- Everything Except Selected Areas - keep selected regions untouched while affecting everything else.
- Preview Only Selected Areas - show only the selected regions in the preview.
Select an Effect such as Pixelate, Blur, Blackout, Whiteout, Grayscale, or Invert.
Create multiple regions by dragging on the original image. Each region can have its own shape.
Choose a Shape for new regions: Rectangle, Rounded Rectangle, Ellipse, or Circle.
Edit regions easily:
- Drag inside a region to move it.
- Drag its handles to resize it.
- Right-click a region to delete it.
Zoom and pan for precise editing using the zoom controls, mouse wheel, or pan shortcuts.
Adjust Pixel Size to control how coarse or fine the pixelation appears.
Export the final image as PNG, JPG, or WebP and adjust quality for supported formats.
Enable Live Preview to see changes instantly as you edit, or disable it for better performance with large images.

Using Image Pixelator

Apply visual effects or opaque covering to the whole image or selected regions.

Open JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MiB and six million pixels.
Choose a mode and effect. Drag selections or enter exact whole-pixel coordinates; up to ten areas are supported. Undo restores selection changes.
Apply, inspect the preview and download a full-resolution PNG, JPG or WebP.

Example

Add a 100 × 100-pixel region at left 20, top 30.
Choose blackout to replace that region with opaque black pixels.

Questions & answers

Is pixelation reliable for hiding private information?

Pixelation and blur obscure appearance but may leave details recognizable. Use opaque blackout when covering sensitive regions, and inspect the exported file before sharing.

Can I define an area without dragging?

Yes. Enter left, top, width and height in pixels and choose Add exact area. Coordinates must stay inside the image; width and height must be at least five pixels.

What happens when I open another image?

Old selections, history and zoom are reset so they do not carry onto the new image.

Do exports contain the selection outlines?

No. Outlines appear on the original selection canvas only. The result is generated from the decoded source, with no source metadata copied. PNG/WebP retain transparency; JPG fills it with white.
