Ready. Explore the example or use the input controls to begin.
Scope and practical limits
Up to 5,000 lines and 50,000 characters. Affixes are single-line strings up to 200 characters. Matching is literal and case-sensitive; when both old edges are provided, both must match without overlapping. Only one pair is removed or replaced.

Using List Prefix, Suffix & Wrapper Editor
Add, remove or replace literal item prefixes and suffixes with exact edge matching, unmatched-item preservation and an exportable before-and-after audit.
- Paste one item per line or import a text file. Review trimming and empty-line rules.
- Choose the comparison or formatting settings and inspect the results and source-line audit.
- Copy or download the full result. Save a project to retain the editable input and settings.
Example
Input: [alpha], [beta], gamma and [] on separate lines. Replace [ and ] with item- and .txt. Results: item-alpha.txt, item-beta.txt, gamma and item-.txt.
Questions & answers
Does removing a prefix delete matching text in the middle?
No. Only the item edges are checked. Interior content remains unchanged.
What happens if only one side of a wrapper matches?
When both old affixes are supplied, the item is changed only if both match. The audit reports unmatched items.
Can this remove repeated wrappers?
It removes one matching pair per item. Apply the operation again if another outer pair must be removed.
