Scope and practical limits
Up to 5,000 source lines and 50,000 characters. One encoded value per source line. CSV accepts one fully quoted field, not a record or physical multiline field. SQL uses single quotes with doubled apostrophes; dialect-specific backslash, N and E forms are unsupported. JSON exports preserve decoded newlines and item boundaries.
The tool processes your work in the browser. The website’s advertising and analytics follow its privacy and consent settings. Projects are not saved automatically. Media workspaces export their files directly rather than storing them in project JSON.

Enter O'Brien and She said "hello" on separate lines. SQL quoting doubles the apostrophe; CSV quoting doubles internal double quotes; JSON quoting uses JSON string escapes.
Questions & answers
Is quoting SQL a substitute for parameters?
No. Use parameterized queries in applications. This tool formats portable-style literals for inspection and does not execute SQL.
Does CSV quoting stop spreadsheet formulas?
No. The quoted output preserves the literal value. Opening a formula-like value in a spreadsheet can still interpret it as a formula. The separate audit CSV export uses the website formula-protection helper.
Can unquoting lose item boundaries?
The plain text view can contain decoded newlines. Download JSON to preserve the exact decoded list structure. Invalid encoded lines stop the operation and identify the source line.
