Scope and practical limits
Up to 5,000 retained items and 50,000 input characters. Positive amounts move right and negative amounts move left. Rotate wraps modulo the list length; shift pads to the same length and reports discarded items. Amounts up to ±1,000,000; one-line padding up to 200 characters.

Using List Rotate, Shift & Reverse
Rotate lists without loss, shift items with explicit padding and discarded-item reports, or reverse their order with original source-position tracking.
- Paste one item per line or import text. Review trimming and blank-line settings.
- Set the layout, movement or range and inspect counts and original positions.
- Download the complete JSON or position audit, or save an editable project.
Example
Rotate A, B, C, D, E right by two: D, E, A, B, C. Shift right by two instead inserts two padding items and reports D and E as discarded.
Questions & answers
Can rotation lose items?
No. It changes positions and wraps around. Each retained occurrence appears once, including duplicate values.
What happens when shifting farther than the list length?
Every input item is discarded and the result consists entirely of padding. The discarded-items export retains original values and source lines.
Can I undo an operation?
Yes. Undo restores previous input/settings. Saving a project retains an editable copy; results are not automatically saved.
